Cayuga Lake National Bank announces recipients of Bee You Awards

Cayuga Lake National Bank (CLNB), in partnership with ESPN Ithaca, has announced the recipients of the first annual Bee You Awards. 54 recipients from four local schools were nominated by educators, family members, and other community individuals for their exceptional acts of leadership, kindness, or community service. 


The winners of the first Bee You Awards are students enrolled in sixth through twelfth grade and exhibit one or more of the following characteristics: 

  • Motivation
  • Kindness
  • Compassion
  • Dedication
  • Empathy
  • Leadership
  • Authenticity
  • Bravery

The Bee You Awards were created to highlight students who are making a difference and positively impacting their peers and community. This year, the Bee You Awards will honor 13 students from Lansing Central School District, 14 students from Union Springs School District, 14 students from Moravia Central School District, and 13 students from Southern Cayuga School District. The winners and their families will be invited to a celebration at Wells College on April 18 where they will receive a physical award as well as have the opportunity to win a grand prize of $1,000. 

“We were thrilled with the response we received for the first ever Bee You Awards and are so excited to celebrate these outstanding students in a couple of weeks. I would like to extend a huge thank you to the school faculty, staff, and community members that recognized the amazing youth in our communities,” Kelly Wade, President & CEO of CLNB said. “We look forward to next year’s Bee You Awards and are confident the interest and number of nominations will only continue to grow each year.
