Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton homer again as Yankees earn series win over Giants

The New York Yankees (2-1) bounced back with a 6-0 victory over the San Francisco Giants (1-2) on Sunday afternoon at Yankee Stadium to secure the series win. 

The long ball propelled New York as Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton hit their second home runs of the season, while Kyle Higashioka launched his first. Stanton’s traveled 485 feet, which was his 8th career homer hit 480+ feet.

Anthony Rizzo added a sacrifice fly, and Gleyber Torres scored on a wild pitch. Anthony Volpe stole another base and joined Fritz Maisel (1913) as the only Yankee to steal three bases in his first three MLB games. 

Jhony Brito made his first big-league start and tossed five shutout innings while striking out six and allowing just two hits.


Jimmy Cordero (0.2 IP), Ron Marinaccio (1.1 IP), and Colten Brewer (2.0 IP) combined to get the final 12 outs without surrendering a run. 

The Yankees will open a three-game series with the Philadelphia Phillies on Monday night in the Bronx. Nestor Cortes will make his season debut. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
