Yates legislators delay county administrator vote after being surprised by motion this week

What’s next in Yates County?

Well, the wait for a permanent appointment in the County Administrator’s Office will be a little longer. Earlier this week the Yates County Legislature voted 8-3 to postpone a vote on hiring Scott Schrader for the job.

The Finger Lakes Times reported that members of the Legislature were surprised by the motion to vote on Schrader during a special session.

Outgoing Administrator Nonie Flynn is retiring in May.

However, not all legislators were present at the meeting earlier this week, which was one source of concern regarding the surprise vote.
