NYSEG will be commencing gas main replacement work in the village of Penn Yan starting on Monday. The first phase of the project will begin at the Elm Street-Main Street intersection, which will be closed to one-way traffic during the connection.
Main Street will be closed from Elm Street to Maiden Lane starting April 3rd and will reopen for the weekend on April 7th.
The village has assured residents and visitors that businesses will remain open during the infrastructure projects. Most businesses have rear entrances, but they can still be accessed through the front. Additionally, parking will remain available in all Village lots and north and south of the project on Main Street.
The village has also reminded pedestrians to abide by all safety barricades in place for the project. The safety of all workers and residents is of utmost importance during the replacement work.
