After dedicating 27 years to the Yates County Sheriff’s Office, First Sergeant Derek Blumbergs has retired.
Blumbergs began his journey with the sheriff’s office as a part-time corrections officer on July 1st, 1996, and worked his way up the ranks, eventually being promoted to deputy sheriff in March 1999 and then to Sergeant in 2008.
In recognition of his achievements, the Yates County Sheriff’s Office took to social media to express their gratitude and admiration for Blumbergs, stating that he served with honor and distinction throughout his career.
As Sgt. Blumbergs retires, the Yates County Sheriff’s Office thanked him for his commitment and dedication to the community.
