Jeff Skinner’s OT goal lifts Sabres over Rangers in Devon Levi’s NHL debut

Devon Levi made 32 saves in his NHL debut, and the Buffalo Sabres edged the New York Rangers 3-2 on Jeff Skinner’s overtime goal Friday night at KeyBank Center.

Skinner scored from the slot at 2:50 of overtime on a pass from Casey Mittelstadt. The game-winner came after the Rangers tied the game at two halfway through the third period.

JJ Peterka and Jordan Greenway also found the back of the net for Buffalo. Dylan Cozens, Jack Quinn, Owen Power, and Rasmus Dahlin notched assists.

Levi, 21, became the third-youngest goalie in Sabres history to win a game.

The Sabres will be right back it on Saturday when they take on the Philadelphia Flyers at the Wells Fargo Center. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m.
