Deputies: Ovid woman arrested for welfare fraud after failing to disclose income

Deputies arrested a 29-year-old Ovid resident following a welfare fraud investigation in Seneca County.

Megan Hackett, 29, was charged with welfare fraud, offering a false instrument for filing, and misuse of food stamps.

it’s alleged that Hackett failed to disclose household income while receiving benefits from Seneca County.

She was released and will answer the charges at a later date.
