Sabres fall to Canadiens in shootout

Buffalo led 3-2 after 40 minutes, but Montreal tied the game halfway through the third period to force overtime. After neither team scored in the extra period, Montreal won the shootout 2-1.

Lukas Rousek scored on his first shift in his NHL debut and later collected an assist. JJ Peterka netted his 10th goal of the season, and Riley Stillman added his first as a Sabre.
