Deputies provided an update on a late-night accident in the town of Lyons on Maple Street Road.
Thomas Luckenbach is said to have been traveling south when he lost control of his vehicle, leaving the roadway, proceeding into a ditch, then striking an embankment before flipping over.
The vehicle then re-entered the roadway after striking the embankment a second time before coming to rest.
Deputies say Luckenbach fled the scene after the accident and was later located at Newark Wayne Community HOspital.
He was admitted for back and chest pain, deputies added. Luckenbach was issued traffic tickets for unreasonable speed and moving from lane unsafely.
