Deputies arrested a Lyons contractor following an investigation that began in February.

Wade Harry Snyder, 62, was arrested by deputies in Ontario County for third-degree grand larceny after events that occurred on February 19, 2023 in the town of Phelps.

According to a news release, Snyder was a contractor who entered into contract with a Phelps resident to complete concrete work around September 25, 2022.

He accepted a down payment for the job in the amount of $5,000 and completed no work for the victim.

Snyder spent the down payment on persona expenses outside of the contracted job, violating New York State Law.

Snyder was provided opportunities to reimburse the victim, but failed to do so at any point.

He was taken into custody without incident and will answer the charge at a later date.
