Residents of the Village of Addison will be welcoming a new mayor in 2023, following the results of the election held on Tuesday. Eva Sue Cunningham emerged victorious in the race for mayor with 179 votes, defeating the incumbent mayor, Raymond Walch, who received just 101 votes.
The election was not just for the mayor’s post but also for new members of the Board of Trustees. Two seats on the board were up for reelection, and John Ford and Robert Miles emerged as the winners, with Ford receiving 214 votes and Miles receiving 159 votes. Michael Fay received 149 votes and did not receive a seat on the board.
The newly elected officials, Cunningham, Ford, and Miles, will be sworn into their positions on April 3 at noon. The village residents have high hopes for their new leaders and are looking forward to seeing positive changes in their community.
