Yesterday, March 22, millions of Americans received their Social Security payments.

Some of these recipients received the maximum monthly payment of $4,555.
Yesterday’s payments were the third round of payments for the month of March for anyone with birthdays between the 21st and 31st of any given month.
Each month there are three rounds of checks sent on the second, third, and fourth Wednesday of every month. The payment days are broken into three groups, so everyone gets one check but it may be at different times.
Those with birthdays landing between the 1st and 10th of a month can expect their payment on the second Wednesday of every month. Anyone with a birthday between the 11th and 20th can expect their payment on the third Wednesday of any month. Finally, anyone with a birthday between the 21st and 31st can expect their payment on the fourth Wednesday of the month.
These dates will only change for holidays landing on them.
For the month of March, payments were sent on March 8, March 15, and March 22.
Social Security payments
What you’re paid depends on the age you retired and what you made throughout your life in wages. The maximum payment is $4,555 and people who get that need to have retired at the age of 70, not before. Those who retired at their full retirement age of 67 could see a maximum of $3,627 per month. Anyone that retired at 62 would only see as much as $2,572.
