Florida truck driver arrested in WNY after shooting driver in Pennsylvania

A truck driver from Florida was arrested in Western New York after allegedly shooting another driver on Interstate 90 in Pennsylvania.

Troopers responded to the Dunkirk/Fredonia exit on the New York State Thruway around 9 p.m. on Tuesday and found the victim, a 42-year-old man from Detroit, with a gunshot wound to his knee.

Ervin B. Stubbs, 34, of Ocala, Florida, was identified as the suspect who shot the victim. Police located Stubbs at a truck stop in Pembroke and found a gun in his possession. He was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and fugitive from justice. Stubbs is scheduled to be arraigned before being extradited to Pennsylvania to face additional charges.

The victim was taken to Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo with non-life-threatening injuries. The motive behind the shooting is unknown at this time. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
