Auburn Community Hospital notified the state Department of Health on Friday after elevated levels of Legionella bacteria were found in its water system. The hospital conducts quarterly testing for Legionella, which showed unexpected abnormalities compared to previous tests.
The initial test results were above the 30% threshold required by the state Department of Health, prompting resampling and further testing.
Results are expected in a week to 10 days.
