Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard provided an update on the fatal crash that happened on Monday in the town of Troupsburg.
According to a news release, deputies werre called to a one-vehicle crash into a tree. The vehicle had a single occupant, who was not responsive upon arrival.
CPR was administered and the driver, identified as Charles Carl Sr., 71, of Westfield, Pennsylvania was transported to a local medical facility for treatment.
He was later pronounced dead.
Sheriff Allard thanked the Woodhul Ambulance Corps for their response to the incident and shared his condolences with family of the victim.
