Better Business investigation underway into Wayne County snow plow contractor

  • Staff Report

Customers in Wayne County are feeling frustrated after a snow plow contractor they hired failed to clear their driveways as promised.

The contractor is now under investigation for taking money for snow plow contracts without providing the service. A homeowner in Williamson said Chad Brockman of Brock’s Contracting only plowed her yard once after signing a contract, and she isn’t the only one experiencing this issue.

According to the Better Business Bureau (BBB), at least two complaints have been filed against Brockman and his company. Additionally, there are five small claims against him in Webster and Wayne County.

BBB Spokesperson Melanie McGovern told News10NBC that customers should research before signing contracts with any contractor. She recommends starting the process in September, getting three bids, and not paying for the entire season upfront. McGovern also suggests sticking with businesses that have BBB accreditation, as there are processes in place to protect consumers. Edwards hopes others will heed this advice when hiring a snow plow service next season.
