The Waterloo Village Board voted against exceeding the state’s property tax cap if needed this spring.
A public hearing was held on a local law on March 13.
While the move is fairly common, a two-thirds approval is required in order to make it happen.
Mayor Jack O’Connor was not at the March 13 meeting. The vote would’ve needed to go 3-0 and only received one supporting vote. That came from Gina Suffredini. John Butlak and Les Marquart voted no.
A public hearing on the proposed budget is expected April 10 at 7 p.m.
