New York State has committed $300 million in aid to build the new Buffalo Bills stadium, according to state officials.
The stadium will cost $1.4 billion, with $850 million coming from state taxpayers, including $600 million from the state’s budget and $250 million from Erie County.
The NFL and the Bills franchise will contribute $550 million towards the new stadium. The funding was approved on March 28, ensuring that the Bills will remain in western New York for the next 30 years.
The stadium will be owned by the state, not Erie County, and construction is expected to begin in early April.
