Lyons, NY native Jim Boeheim arrived on the Syracuse University campus 60 years ago and never left. He built the Syracuse basketball program into a national powerhouse, refusing opportunities to move on from Central New York and bleeding Orange every step of the way. On Wednesday night, Syracuse University issued a statement that he would be stepping down and one of his former players, Adrian Autry, would be taking over the program. On Thursday morning we discuss Boeheim’s legacy and reminisce about the many great moments that defined being a Syracuse fan, and a sports fan, here in Upstate New York during his amazing run that included 1,116 wins, several conference championships and final fours, and the Orange National Championship in 2003.
