Another Wayne-Finger Lakes team is headed to the New York State Far West Regional.

The Lyons Lions (24-1) knocked off the Pembroke Dragons (22-2), 59-56, on Thursday night in front of a jam-packed crowd at Avon High School.

Lyons got into some foul trouble early on and trailed by five at halftime but came out in the third quarter and quickly erased the deficit, outscoring Pembroke 19-10. Both teams traded leads in the final eight minutes, but the Lions hit big free throws at the end to seal the victory.

JC Walker led the way for Lyons with a game-high 34 points, with 18 coming in the second half. Jacob Sides netted 10 points, and Michael Briggs poured in seven points, including four free throws. Jamire Johnson added six points and was a beast on the boards.

Lyons will face the Section VI Class C champion, Randolph, in the NYS Far West Regional on Saturday at Gates-Chili High School. Tipoff is scheduled for 11 a.m.
