Thrifty Shopper store in Seneca Falls could reopen soon after being closed due to building issues

The Thrifty Shopper, located in the Kingdom Plaza on Routes 5&20 in Seneca Falls, has temporarily closed due to a leaky roof that has persisted for several months.

According to the Finger Lakes Times, the store was forced to shut its doors on February 24th when heavy rain and ice caused water to seep into the store’s ceiling tiles, saturating them and creating a danger of collapse.

The situation was further compounded when the store was deemed unsafe and no longer in compliance with building codes.

However, there is good news as the management is optimistic that the store will reopen next week.

Kingdom Plaza was built in 1956 and is owned by Seaway Acquisitions of Syracuse. Thrifty Shopper is located in the former Eckerd’s drug store.
