It was another frustrating night for the Buffalo Sabres as they dropped their second straight game with a 3-2 loss to the New York Islanders at UBS Arena, and everyone ahead of them in the Wild-Card standings picked up victories. Buffalo fell to 32-27-4 (68 points) with the loss.
Dylan Cozens scored his 25th goal, while Kyle Okposo netted his eighth. Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen stopped 36-of-39 shots.
Both teams were unable to capitalize on their power-play opportunities as they each went 0-for-2.
