The New York State Attorney General’s Office has taken over an investigation into an alleged suicide at the Onondaga County Justice Center over the weekend.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, an incarcerated man was found unconscious in his cell on Saturday. Deputies attempted to save his life, but their efforts were unsuccessful.
After detectives conducted an investigation, the case was handed over to the Attorney General’s Office for further examination. At this time, the identity of the deceased individual has not been released.
