Deputies arrested a Sodus man following an investigation into prison contraband at the Wayne County Jail.
Roy Wood III, 51, of Sodus was charged with first-degree promoting prison contraband.
The charges stem from corrections officers conducting a search of holding cells at the jail and locating cigarettes, as well as a lighter.
All were in Wood’s possession deputies said. He was being held on unrelated charges before the contraband search and arrest.
Wood will answer the new charges at a later date.
