Sabres snap skid with win over Lightning

The Buffalo Sabres got back in the win column on Saturday afternoon with a 5-3 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning at KeyBank Center. Buffalo moved to 32-25-4 (68 points) on the season.

Tampa Bay opened the scoring, but the Sabres scored the next five goals, including three in the second period, before the Lightning tallied the final two.

Tage Thompson netted his team-leading 42nd goal on the power play, raising his point total to 82. Vinnie Hinostroza (2), Tyson Jost (6), Jack Quinn (12), and Jeff Skinner (26) also found the back of the net. Eric Comrie started between the pipes and made 33 saves.

The Sabres will get a day off before the Edmonton Oilers come to town on Monday night. Puck drop at KeyBank Center is set for 7:30 p.m.
