GIRLS BASKETBALL: Dundee/Bradford’s run ends in sectional finals loss

The Dundee/Bradford BraveScots will have to wait at least another year before they win their first sectional title.

The four-seeded BraveScots (21-3) had their season end on Saturday afternoon with a 45-36 loss to the three-seeded Pavilion Golden Gophers (21-3) in the Section V Class C2 Final at Rush-Henrietta High School.

Pavilion led by nine at halftime, but Dundee/Bradford came out of the locker room and went on a 13-2 run to take the lead before the Golden Gophers regained a two-point lead heading into the fourth quarter. However, the BraveScots scored just five points in the final eight minutes, and Pavilion pulled away to secure its third sectional title in program history.

Lauren Kingsley scored a game-high 18 points for the Golden Gophers. Kendall Parker led Dundee/Bradford with 17 points.

Pavilion will take on the Class C2 champion Oakfield-Alabama in the NYS Class C Far West Regional Qualifier on Tuesday.
