Man charged with petit larceny after taking trees from Beachwood State Park in Sodus

State police have identified the person responsible for the larceny that took place at Beachwood State Park in the town of Sodus earlier this week.

It was originally reported that a caretaker for the property saw a Preston’s Tree & Landscape Service truck drive onto the property with an empty bed. Then, about 15 minutes later it left with a bed full of tree saplings.

As it turns out, the operator of that truck was 26-year-old Bradley Preston. He was charged with petit larceny and issued an appearance ticket for March 13th in Sodus Town Court.

Aaron Preston, who owns the landscaping company, told News 8 in Rochester that the 26-year-old had just bought a home, was not on the clock, and was doing some personal landscaping on his own property.
