On February 22nd investigators executed a search warrant at a residence on Hornby Road in the Village of Painted Post.
The search was conducted following a two-month investigation into suspected narcotics sales in the area. Recovered in the search were almost two ounces of suspected crystal methamphetamine, valued at approximately $1,600, a shotgun, and assorted paraphernalia.
Joseph R. Hetlan, 41, of Painted Post was arrested and charged with Class A and Class B felony counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance, and a felony count of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
It is alleged that Hetlan possessed and sold illegal stimulants and methamphetamine. He was arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment Court and released.
Sheriff Jim Allard thanked the Village of Bath Police Department, City of Corning Police Department, and Village of Painted Post Police Department for their assistance in the investigation, search, and arrest. The successful operation highlights the importance of inter-agency cooperation in combating drug-related crimes and keeping communities safe.
