Favorable oil prices are driving the decline in gasoline prices. As of Monday morning, oil prices ranged from $77 to $83 per barrel, consistent with prices a week ago and much lower than the high prices seen last year. The national average price for a gallon of diesel was $4.41, down 8 cents from a week ago. The current average price for diesel in New York was $5.05, down 8 cents from last week.

Gasoline prices have fallen slightly across New York state, and diesel prices are also down. As favorable oil prices persist, experts predict gasoline prices will continue to drop.
