It’s hard to win games when your defense can’t get stops, and that was the case again for the Syracuse Orange men’s basketball team as they dropped their third straight game with a 99-82 road loss to the Pittsburgh Panthers on Saturday night. With the loss, the Orange dropped to 16-13 (9-8) on the season.
Syracuse trailed by just four at the break, but Pittsburgh pulled away in the second half behind 16 three-pointers.
Benny Williams led the way for Syracuse with a career-high 24 points on 8-of-15 shooting, including five three-pointers. Three others finished in double figures as Joe Girard netted 19 points, Jesse Edwards poured in 17, and Judah Mintz added 16.
