Welfare fraud investigation nets one arrest in Romulus

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office says a Romulus man was arrested on several charges after a welfare fraud investigation.

On February 23rd deputies arrested Thomas Weaver, 74, for misuse of food stamps, welfare fraud, and offering a false instrument for filing.

It’s alleged that Weaver received monetary benefits from Seneca County that he wasn’t entitled to and failed to report his income properly.

He was processed and released on an appearance ticket.
