A man was taken into custody on Tuesday afternoon after a traffic stop led to a brief foot pursuit, according to the State Police in Rochester.
At approximately 1:32 p.m., a motorist was pulled over on Hudson Avenue in the city of Rochester. Following the pursuit, the driver was identified as Thomas Pearson, 33, of Rochester.
During a search, law enforcement officers found Pearson to be in possession of a stolen .22 handgun, as well as a quantity of illegal drugs.
Pearson was charged with two felony counts of criminal possession of a weapon, as well as criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of stolen property.
He was taken to Monroe County Jail for arraignment.
