Frontenac Park and Boat Launch in Union Springs has been vandalized, according to a Facebook post made by Village Trustee and Park Commissioner Robert Thurston Jr.
Thurston Jr. urged anyone with information about the incident to come forward and report it to the Village Clerk at (315)889-7341 or State Police at (315)253-6913. He also noted that a black pick-up truck was seen in the park just before 11:00 p.m. on Wednesday and is suspected of causing the damage.
Frontenac Park and Boat Launch is a popular recreation spot in Union Springs, located on the northern end of Cayuga Lake. The park offers a variety of outdoor activities, including fishing, boating, and hiking.
Local residents and officials expressed their disappointment and frustration over the incident on social media, with many calling for the responsible party to be held accountable for their actions.
