A woman has been arrested for driving while intoxicated following a rollover accident in the Town of Waterloo on Sunday, according to the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to the area of Edwards Rd and Hecker Road at around 2:35 a.m. on February 19, 2023, for a reported personal injury accident with entrapment. Upon arriving, they found the driver, identified as Jessica J. Romo, 44, of Geneva in the vehicle. Romo was checked over by North Seneca Ambulance and was found to be uninjured.
Further investigation revealed that Romo was traveling through the intersection of Hecker Rd and Edwards Rd when another vehicle was approaching the intersection. Romo’s vehicle took evasive action and rolled onto its passenger side into the ditch on the east side of the roadway, causing heavy damage to the vehicle.
During the investigation, deputies observed signs of intoxication and concluded that alcohol was a contributing factor to the accident. Romo was subsequently arrested for DWI and transported to the Seneca County Correctional Facility, where she was processed and released with appearance tickets.
The charges against Romo include DWI, DWI with a blood alcohol content of .08 or more, failure to use designated lane, and failure to yield right of way at an intersection.
