Duran Duran coming to CMAC this fall

Duran Duran has announced its 2023 North American tour, which includes a 7 p.m. show at the Constellation Brands-Marvin Sands Performing Arts Center near Canandaigua on Sunday, September 3. Tickets for the 26-city tour will be available to the general public starting at $45 from ticketmaster.com from 10 a.m. Thursday, February 16.

The iconic British band, which was formed in 1978 in Birmingham, England, became a worldwide phenomenon during the early days of MTV. Duran Duran’s slickly produced videos for hits including “Rio” and “Hungry Like the Wolf” were played in heavy rotation, and the band’s music quickly gained a massive following.

The tour, which kicks off on May 28 in San Jose, California, will feature openers Bastille and Nile Rodgers & CHIC. The current Duran Duran lineup includes four of the original members: lead singer Simon Le Bon, bassist John Taylor, keyboardist Nick Rhodes, and drummer Roger Taylor.

At the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony last November, the band revealed that founding guitarist Andy Taylor had been living with stage-four prostate cancer, which was diagnosed four years prior. Despite the absence of Taylor, Duran Duran is still expected to put on an incredible show, which will feature many of the band’s classic hits, as well as music from their latest studio album, “FUTURE PAST.”

The forthcoming tour promises to be an exciting event for fans of the ’80s band, who will have the opportunity to relive the group’s iconic music and live performances. The North American tour is expected to draw huge crowds, and fans are encouraged to purchase their tickets early to avoid missing out on the chance to see Duran Duran in action.
