Bath home destroyed by massive fire

Multiple fire departments responded to a structure fire on Emerson Road in Steuben County, which left a home in ruins. According to a statement from the Bath Volunteer Fire Department, Bath fire and ambulance units were dispatched to the fire at around 4:24 p.m. on Feb. 15.

Upon arrival, the fire crews found a mobile home engulfed in flames. As a result, additional aid was requested from Bath VA, Howard, Kanona, Savona, Hammondsport, and Avoca fire departments. Despite their efforts, the home was completely destroyed by the fire.


Firefighters were relieved to learn that no one was inside the home at the time of the incident, and there were no reported injuries. The fire crews remained on the scene until late in the evening, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Steuben County Fire Investigators were called to the scene to determine the reason behind the incident. The destruction of the home is a devastating loss for the owner, and the community has expressed its support and condolences during this difficult time.

The investigation remains active.
