New York State Police have announced the arrest of 44-year-old Parker Megivern of Tompkins County following a long-standing investigation into his business practices. The investigation, which dates back to September 2019, uncovered evidence of grand larceny and scheme to defraud.
According to the police, Megivern had entered into agreements with customers for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning work. However, after receiving down payments, Megivern either failed to start the agreed-upon work or completed only a small portion of the work without finishing it. The investigation found 13 separate complaints against Megivern.
Megivern was taken into custody on Wednesday and was later released after being arraigned. The New York State Police are encouraging anyone with additional information about the case to come forward and contact them.
