State Police in Jefferson County arrested Terry L. McKeever, 68, on February 9th for menacing and criminal possession of a weapon.

McKeever, who serves as the town of Theresa Code Enforcement Officer, was taken into custody after unlawfully displaying a pistol while attempting to serve paperwork in his capacity as a code enforcement official.

According to the authorities, McKeever holds a valid pistol permit, and his weapon was voluntarily surrendered to the State Police. The initial investigation also suggests a history of conflicts between McKeever and the victim/complainant, who own neighboring properties.

McKeever was issued an appearance ticket and is due to appear in Jefferson County CAP court on February 24, 2023, at 5:30 p.m. The case is still under investigation, and the authorities have not released any further details.
