Buffalo Sabres defenseman Rasmus Dahlin is heading to the NHL All-Star game for the second time in his young career.
The league announced Thursday that he will replace his teammate, Tage Thompson, on the Atlantic Division roster after he suffered an upper-body injury in Wednesday’s 5-1 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes.
The 22-year-old ranks second among defensemen in goals (14) and points (55) this season, which are career highs. He also ranks third in the NHL in average ice time (26:07).
The 3-on-3 All-Star Game in Sunrise, Florida, will begin Saturday at 3 p.m. on ABC and ESPN+.
