A manhunt in Oregon came to a dramatic end when Benjamin Obadiah Foster, 36, shot himself while hiding in a crawlspace beneath a house in Grants Pass. Foster was the suspect in a violent kidnapping case where a woman was found unconscious and near death.
The manhunt intensified when the bodies of two men were found killed in a rural area north of Grants Pass, and it was revealed that Foster had stolen some of the victims’ belongings, including their dog.
Foster was spotted walking a dog and barricaded himself under the same house where the woman was found. As authorities arrived, he shot himself and was taken into custody but later died at a hospital. Foster had a history of similar crimes and had served little time in prison for holding his then-girlfriend captive in Las Vegas.
Police warned the public that Foster was using dating apps to find new victims or avoid authorities. The attack on the woman and the manhunt involving local, state, and federal agents has caused concern among the residents of Grants Pass.
