Town assessor in Upstate New York charged with eavesdropping after installing cameras in employees’ offices

State police report the arrest of an Old Forge man following an investigation into official misconduct in the town of Webb.

Justin Masters, 47, was charged with one count of eavesdropping – a felony.

Police said Masters was employed as the town’s assessor.

The arrest resulted from an investigation where it was shown that Masters allegedly placed a hidden camera inside town offices to capture what town employees were doing.

He was issued an appearance ticket and will answer the charge at a later date.
