Snowy conditions, combined with vehicle that was overloaded led to Yates County crash

An overweight, overlength vehicle was the cause of a motor vehicle accident on Wednesday in the Town of Jerusalem, according to the Yates County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to the area of Italy Friend Road and Friend Road for the report of the accident, where they discovered that Abhimanyu Parmar had been navigating a slight grade on the roadway under snowy conditions when the vehicle began to slide. The vehicle then exited the roadway, entered a ditch, and re-entered the roadway before finally coming to rest on its side.

Parmar suffered minor injuries and was cleared by emergency medical services at the scene. He was charged with having an overlength vehicle and an overweight vehicle, both of which are violations of traffic laws in the state of New York.

The accident is still under investigation, and authorities are urging all drivers to be cautious while on the road, especially during inclement weather conditions. Drivers are reminded to check the weight and length of their vehicles before hitting the road to avoid accidents and possible legal repercussions.
