One hospitalized after slippery conditions leads to Yates County crash

An Ontario County man was taken to the hospital following a motor vehicle accident on Thursday in the Town of Potter, according to the Yates County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident occurred when 52-year old Andrew Gardner’s vehicle was traveling on State Road 364 at Voak Road, and due to slippery and unsafe road conditions, it slid downhill and ended up in a ditch, where the vehicle rolled.

Gardner was checked over by emergency medical services at the scene and was later transported to FF Thompson Hospital for further treatment. He was also ticketed for an unsafe tire which was a contributing factor to the accident.

The Yates County Sheriff’s Office is reminding drivers to take extra precautions when driving on snowy or slippery roads, and to check their vehicle’s tires for wear and proper inflation before hitting the road.
