The Buffalo Sabres’ road trip got off to a great start as they defeated the Dallas Stars, 3-2, in overtime on Monday night at American Airlines Center. With the victory, Buffalo improved to 24-19-3 (51 points) on the season.
Owen Power, who had not scored in the first 45 games, netted the game-winner in overtime on a perfect feed from Tage Thompson.
Rasmus Dahlin scored his 14th goal, setting a new career high. Victor Olofsson also found the back of the net, his 22nd. He has now recorded a goal in four straight contests.
Craig Anderson appeared in his 700th career game and stopped 29 shots.
The Sabres will try to win their fourth straight on Tuesday night in St. Louis when they square off with the Blues at 8 p.m.
