Police say one person was taken into custody after a physical domestic incident Saturday afternoon.
Officers were called to Fair Street in Ithaca for a domestic incident in progress.
Upon arrival around 2 p.m. police met the victim who had visible injuries stemming from the dispute.
Due to the severity of the crime and allegations that the suspect was armed with a weapon officers created a perimeter around the residence.
Officers located the suspect and took him into custody.
Police later identified the suspect as 27-year-old Terry Short, who was charged with first-degree aggravated criminal contempt, assault, and resisting arrest.
He was arraigned and will answer the charges at a later date.
