On a night the Buffalo Sabres honored goaltender Ryan Miller and retired his number, the team picked up a thrilling 3-2 overtime victory over the New York Islanders in front of a soldout crowd at KeyBank Center.
Buffalo erased two deficits before Dylan Cozens sniped one past Islanders goalie Ilya Sorokin on a breakaway just 12 seconds into the extra frame, giving the Sabres the win.
Alex Tuch and Victor Olofsson also found the back of the net, while Rasmus Dahlin tallied two assists. Ukko-Pekka Luukonen stopped 24-of-26 shots.
The Sabres (22-19-3) will be back in action on Saturday when they host the Anaheim Ducks (13-28-5) at 12:30 p.m.
