Police say one person is in custody and another recovering at an area hospital following an assault in Ithaca.
Around 12:51 p.m. police responded to a portion of West State Street on Tuesday for a dispute.
Upon arrival, they found one subject cut and stabbed the other person. The victim, who appeared to have non-life threatening lacerations and stab wounds was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The suspect, identified as 40-year-old Chanel Savage, of Ithaca, initially fled the scene, but was located a short time later.
Savage was charged with second-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
A city judge remanded Savage to the Tompkins County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.
The investigation into the incident remains active.
