A police officer was injured over the weekend while responding to a burglary.
The call came in around 7:40 p.m. for a burglary-in-progress at a business on North Exchange Street.
When they arrived, they found Pedro Lian Diaz-Figueroa, 35, who was stealing property from the business.
He was placed into custody and then attempted to escape. Through that effort he injured one of the officers who responded to the scene.
The officer suffered injuries to his face, hands, and legs. They were treated and released from a local hospital.
Diaz-Figueroa was charged with burglary, escape, and false impersonation.
No additional information about the incident was immediately available.
