USPS stamp price increase begins soon: How much more will it cost to send mail or ship packages?

The price of stamps is about to increase for 2023.

Beginning Sunday, January 22nd, the U.S. Postal Service will increase the price of postage by approximately 4.2%.

The increase amounts to a few cents per stamp, officials said.

The cost of a Forever Stamp will increase from 60 cents to 63 cents. It’s the third price hike in roughly one year.

Other notable increases include metered letters, which will jump to 60 cents from 57 cents, as well as domestic postcards, international postcards, and international letters, which will increase four and five cents respectively.

Here’s the catch, though. Not all postage rates will be increasing. If you ship goods using the small flat-rate box, the price will decrease by 10 cents. If you use the medium or large version of those boxes to ship goods, the price will increase by five cents and 35 cents respectively.

The price of flat-rate envelopes will decrease by at least 20 cents across the board.
