Troopers: 15-year-old leads police on pursuit

On January 16th at approximately 3:15 p.m. State Police attempted to stop the operator of a reported stolen vehicle in the city of Rochester. The operator, a 15-year-old juvenile, refused to comply and led troopers on a brief pursuit until crashing on Avenue A near Gladys Street.

The juvenile was taken into custody without incident and charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, Unauthorized use of a Motor Vehicle, and Possession of Burglar’s Tools.

Fortunately, there were no reported injuries from the crash, and the juvenile was issued a ticket to appear in Family Court. The incident serves as a reminder to the public to report any suspicious activity to the authorities and to never flee from law enforcement.

The State Police continue to investigate the incident and anyone with information is asked to contact them.
